Fraunhofer IKTS is Europe's largest R&D institute dedicated to the study of ceramics, hardmetals and cermets. Powder technology processes are applied at high level under high throughput capacities and continuously refined. The thermoplastic shaping methods 1K, 2K or microinjection molding are used for new types of material combinations. 3D printing is used to realize small- and medium-scale quantities. IKTS has the full spectrum of extrusion facilities at its fingertips, so that multichannel elements, honeycomb geometries and tubes can be manufactured from structural and functional ceramics.
